Service Policies
You do not need to be home for exterior-only services, provided we have safe access to all scheduled work areas. Please ensure all gates are unlocked and functioning properly, and that pets are safely secured before our arrival.
If your service includes interior window cleaning or any work requiring access inside your home, and you will not be present, please let us know in advance how we can access the property (such as a hidden key, lock-box, or garage code). This helps avoid unnecessary delays, rescheduling, and potential cancellation fees.
Please let us know if your home is currently undergoing construction, remodeling, painting, or other contractor work.
To ensure the highest quality results, all construction and remodeling should be fully completed before your appointment with Fisher Exterior Solutions.
Your property should be clean, accessible, and ready for service when we arrive. If active construction or remodeling prevents us from completing the scheduled work, we may either:
Reschedule your appointment, and a minimum service charge of $200 may apply.
Complete the accessible portions of the project and adjust the invoice to reflect only the work performed.
We kindly request that any appointment changes or cancellations be made no later than two full calendar days before your scheduled appointment date.
Because we reserve time specifically for your service, last-minute cancellations often prevent us from filling that appointment and require additional scheduling adjustments.
We understand that emergencies happen and will always do our best to be reasonable. However, Fisher Exterior Solutions reserves the right to charge a $200 cancellation fee for cancellations or rescheduling requests made after this time.
At Fisher Exterior Solutions, we enjoy meeting our customer's pets. However, for everyone's safety and to help us work efficiently, we ask that pets be kept indoors or in a secure area while we're working.
Some pets may become anxious or protective around unfamiliar people, especially when ladders, hoses, and other equipment are being used. Keeping them safely secured helps reduce stress for your pet while allowing us to work safely and efficiently. If your dog only barks briefly before settling down, that's generally not a problem.
Please remove pet waste from all scheduled work areas before your appointment.
Our technicians regularly carry ladders, hoses, and other equipment, making it difficult to watch every step. Stepping in pet waste can contaminate our equipment, clothing, and even areas inside your home, requiring us to stop work to clean and sanitize our gear. This delays your service and can affect the remainder of our schedule.
If excessive pet waste is present when we arrive, Fisher Exterior Solutions may, at our discretion:
Charge an additional fee for the extra time required.
Skip affected areas and adjust the invoice to reflect only the work completed.
Reschedule the appointment if the work cannot be completed safely or reasonably.
Thank you for helping us maintain a safe, clean work environment. Your cooperation allows us to provide the highest quality service possible.

Our standard window cleaning service is intended as a maintenance cleaning unless otherwise agreed upon in writing.
Standard cleaning includes minor restoration, which consists of removing typical dirt, dust, pollen, bug residue, and other surface contaminants that can be removed through normal cleaning methods and light buffing. While we strive for excellent results, minor restoration does not guarantee the complete removal of every spot.
Major restoration services are not included with standard window cleaning unless specifically quoted.
Examples of services not included are:
Post-construction or post-remodel cleaning
Paint, silicone, stucco, mortar, or adhesive removal
Hard water stain removal
Heavy tree sap removal
Heavy artillery fungus removal
Heavy spider silk removal
Other contaminants requiring specialized restoration techniques
Industry-standard tools, including razor blades or scrapers, may be used when necessary and when deemed appropriate by our technicians. Although every precaution is taken, Fisher Exterior Solutions cannot be held responsible for scratches caused by pre-existing glass defects, improperly manufactured tempered glass, fabrication debris, or imperfections that become visible during the cleaning process. See the link regarding razor blades and tempered glass PDF that describes the problem. (Invisible intruder button below)
To ensure a safe and efficient service, please provide clear access to all windows scheduled for cleaning.
For interior window cleaning, we ask that furniture, décor, and other valuable items be moved away from windows before our arrival. While our technicians exercise great care, accidents can happen, and Fisher Exterior Solutions cannot be responsible for damage to items left in the work area.
For exterior cleaning, trees, shrubs, and landscaping should be trimmed sufficiently to allow safe ladder placement and access. Windows that cannot be accessed safely or reasonably may be excluded from the service and the price reduced.
Our technicians are experienced in safely removing and reinstalling most window screens. However, some screens are manufactured with extremely tight tolerances or may have become brittle with age.
Fisher Exterior Solutions is not responsible for damage to screens that are already weakened, improperly installed, excessively tight, or previously damaged. Existing damage such as bent frames, broken corners, torn mesh, or loose hardware should be reported prior to service.
If interior window cleaning is scheduled, please ensure work areas are reasonably clean and free of excessive pet hair.
Heavy pet hair can transfer to cleaning equipment and affect cleaning quality. If work areas are not adequately prepared, our technicians may skip affected areas for health, safety, and quality reasons. Any skipped work will be removed from your invoice.
Not all skylights can be safely accessed.
Interior and exterior skylights will be evaluated upon arrival to determine whether they can be cleaned safely without risking damage to your home or creating unsafe working conditions. Skylights deemed inaccessible or unsafe will not be serviced.
Exterior window cleaning, particularly when cleaning frames and tracks, may require the use of water.
In rare situations—typically involving older windows with failed seals, deteriorated caulking, blocked weep holes, or other pre-existing defects—water intrusion may occur. Fisher Exterior Solutions performs all services under the assumption that your windows and home are properly maintained and weather resistant.
We cannot be held responsible for water entering through defective windows, failed seals, damaged frames, compromised flashing, clogged drainage systems, or other pre-existing conditions beyond our control.
The safety of our customers, technicians, and property is our highest priority.
Fisher Exterior Solutions reserves the right to decline or postpone any portion of a service that cannot be completed safely due to weather, accessibility, structural concerns, hazardous conditions, or other unforeseen circumstances.
For most homes, exterior window screens can be removed from the outside. However, some windows are designed so the screens can only be removed from inside the home. While this is uncommon, many homeowners are already aware if their home has this type of window.
If you have requested exterior-only window cleaning and any screens must be removed from the interior, please remove those screens before our scheduled arrival if you will not be home.
If you will be home and would prefer that we remove and reinstall the interior-access screens, we are happy to do so. Please note that an additional charge may apply, as this service requires extra time and labor.
If you're unsure whether your home has interior-removable screens, feel free to let us know before your appointment, and we'll be happy to discuss the best option for your service.
At Fisher Exterior Solutions, we take pride in leaving your property clean after every service. To help your appointment go smoothly, please review the following information:
During gutter cleaning, we remove leaves, pine needles, roof grit, and other debris from your gutters. By default, all debris will be placed in your yard waste bin if one is available. Please leave the bin in a visible location or let us know where you would like the debris placed.
If your property has a natural or wooded landscape, we can also scatter biodegradable debris in designated natural areas upon request, or if we see no compost can we will scatter by default.
Please ensure that an exterior water spigot is turned on and accessible for cleanup. During colder months, outdoor faucets are sometimes shut off to prevent freezing, so we appreciate you checking this before your appointment.
For the safety of our technicians and to ensure a quality service, we do not clean gutters when debris is frozen solid. Even if daytime temperatures rise above freezing, gutters often remain frozen from overnight temperatures.
Snow, ice, or frost may require your appointment to be rescheduled until conditions are safe and the gutters have thawed. We will contact you as soon as possible if weather impacts your scheduled service.
Property Preparation
To help us provide the best possible service, please ensure all work areas are clear of personal belongings before your scheduled appointment. This includes patio furniture, flower pots, doormats, decorations, grills, toys, and other movable items.
Items left for our technicians to move may result in additional charges. If an item is too large or too heavy to move safely, please leave it in place—we will clean around it as needed.
Standing Water & Low Areas
Some surfaces have low spots where water naturally collects. During cleaning, we will make every reasonable effort to remove standing water and any remaining debris. However, due to the nature of these areas, some sediment or residue may remain after the surface dries.
Stain Removal
Our pressure washing and soft washing services are designed to remove dirt, algae, moss, mildew, mold, and other organic buildup. While these services dramatically improve most surfaces, they do not typically remove permanent or embedded stains such as:
Oil and grease stains
Rust stains
Paint
Battery acid stains
Fertilizer stains
Tire marks
Other deeply embedded or chemical staining
Wood & Asphalt Surfaces
Wood surfaces (including decks, fences, and some wood structures) and asphalt surfaces (including asphalt driveways) require a signed waiver before service begins. These materials can vary significantly in age and condition, and cleaning may expose pre-existing defects, loose fibers, weathering, previous repairs, or other imperfections that are beyond our control.
Whenever appropriate, Fisher Exterior Solutions uses a low-pressure soft washing process on these surfaces to minimize the risk of damage while effectively removing dirt, algae, mold, mildew, and other organic growth. Soft washing is the recommended cleaning method for most wood and asphalt surfaces because it is gentler than traditional high-pressure washing. However, even when using the proper cleaning method, we cannot guarantee that pre-existing conditions or age-related deterioration will not become visible after cleaning.
At Fisher Exterior Solutions, we use professional soft washing techniques to safely clean and restore exterior surfaces while protecting your home. Please review the information below before your service.
Soft washing is a low-pressure cleaning method that effectively eliminates moss, mold, mildew, algae, lichen, bacteria, and other organic growth without damaging your home's exterior. Unlike high-pressure washing, soft washing relies on specialized cleaning solutions rather than excessive pressure, making it the safest and most effective method for many surfaces.
For asphalt roofs, the Asphalt Roofing Manufacturers Association (ARMA) recommends low-pressure, detergent-assisted cleaning methods to help prevent unnecessary damage to roofing materials. Soft washing is also an excellent solution for cleaning siding, trim, gutters, fences, and other delicate exterior surfaces.
Results typically last 1 to 5 years, although longevity depends on several factors, including:
Local climate and rainfall
Amount of shade and tree coverage
Moisture levels around the home
Existing organic growth
Overall property conditions
Homes located in damp or heavily shaded areas may require more frequent maintenance.
Soft washing is designed to kill moss, algae, mildew, mold, and lichen, but it does not instantly remove established moss or lichen from the surface.
After treatment:
Moss and lichen will die.
They commonly change color, often turning white or light brown.
Over time, weather and natural decomposition will cause the dead growth to dry out, crumble, and gradually disappear.
This natural process may take 6 to 24 months, depending on weather conditions and the amount of growth present.
If requested, Fisher Exterior Solutions may be able to remove loosened dead moss during a future visit using non-damaging methods. Additional charges may apply.
Our soft washing process uses professional-grade cleaning solutions, including sodium hypochlorite, which is the industry standard for safely removing organic growth from roofs, siding, and many exterior surfaces.
Although we take great care to minimize overspray, some overspray is unavoidable during the cleaning process.
We recommend removing or protecting:
Outdoor furniture
Decorations
Cushions and fabrics
Potted plants (when practical)
Any personal belongings you wish to protect
Prior to your appointment, please:
Ensure all windows and doors are completely closed.
Remove or cover any items you wish to protect from cleaning solution over-spray.
Inform us of any areas of concern before work begins.
Notify us of any existing leaks, damaged siding, deteriorated roofing, loose caulking, or other conditions that may allow water intrusion.
If our technicians are required to move furniture or other items before cleaning, additional charges may apply.
Our cleaning methods are designed for properly maintained, weather-tight homes.
Fisher Exterior Solutions assumes your home is properly sealed against normal weather conditions. We cannot be responsible for water intrusion resulting from:
Existing leaks
Failed window or door seals
Damaged siding
Loose flashing
Defective roofing
Structural deficiencies or pre-existing conditions
Please notify us of any known issues before your service begins.
While soft washing is safe for the vast majority of exterior paint systems, certain specialty paints containing organic pigments—most commonly some blues and greens—may react differently to cleaning solutions.
Although this issue is rare and we have not encountered it, Fisher Exterior Solutions cannot guarantee against discoloration or cosmetic changes caused by paint formulations outside industry standards.
By authorizing our services, you acknowledge and accept this possibility and release Fisher Exterior Solutions from liability for discoloration resulting from specialty paint pigments or manufacturer-specific paint formulations.
Soft washing produces the best results under suitable weather conditions.
Appointments may be postponed or rescheduled if conditions include:
Heavy rainfall
Excessive wind
Unsafe weather conditions
Temperatures that could affect cleaning performance
Our goal is to complete every service under conditions that provide the safest and highest-quality results.
Soft washing is intended to eliminate organic contaminants such as:
Moss
Mold
Mildew
Algae
Lichen
Bacteria
Soft washing is not designed to remove:
Rust stains
Oil or grease stains
Oxidation
Mineral deposits
Hard water stains
Paint over-spray
Other non-organic staining
These conditions may require specialized restoration services beyond the scope of a standard soft wash.
Cedar shake roofs are a natural wood product that weather differently than other roofing materials. Over time, they may lose stain, fade, or develop discoloration from algae, mildew, mold, or other organic growth.
Fisher Exterior Solutions does not provide cedar shake roof cleaning. However, when soft washing siding, gutters, or other exterior surfaces, cleaning solution runoff may come into contact with portions of a cedar shake roof.
While this runoff may brighten or clean some areas of the shakes, it will not clean the entire roof evenly. This can occasionally create a patchy or uneven appearance.
To minimize this possibility, we thoroughly wet cedar shake surfaces before, during, and after the cleaning process. In most cases, this prevents noticeable differences. However, because every roof ages differently, we cannot guarantee a perfectly uniform appearance.
If the possibility of minor color variation is unacceptable, we recommend postponing siding or gutter soft washing that requires the use of sodium hypochlorite-based cleaning solutions.
At Fisher Exterior Solutions, we are committed to providing safe, effective, and professional exterior cleaning services. We use proven methods, quality equipment, and industry-standard cleaning practices to protect your property while delivering outstanding results. If you have any questions before your appointment, we're always happy to help.
